Fiji is not just a land of tourism; it is also a land of opportunities for trade and investment.

Dr. Yok Yee Chan, Consul General of the Republic of Fiji in Shanghai, added that Fiji’s strategic location in the South Pacific makes it a gateway to a vast market of over 600 million people. Dr. Chan was speaking during the Fiji Promotional Event during the 18th China International Small and Medium Enterprises Fair (CISMEF) held at the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou, Wednesday, 28th June 2023. “We have created a business-friendly environment with attractive incentives, streamlined processes, and a supportive regulatory framework,” said Dr. Chan.

“Whether you are looking to establish a manufacturing base, invest in our agriculture sector, or explore the potential of our renewable energy resources, Fiji provides a fertile ground for growth and success,” she said. Despite being geographically small, Dr. Chan said Fiji possesses an entrepreneurial spirit that knows no bounds. “Our small and medium enterprises (SMEs) form the backbone of our economy, contributing significantly to employment, innovation, and economic growth.” “At this event, we proudly showcase an array of natural Fijian products that represent the creativity and high quality of our local entrepreneurs.”
