On 6 February 2023, the 16th Grand Hotels Media Annual Ceremony & VIP Gala Dinner was successfully held at Shangri-La Qiantan, Shanghai. The event was co-organized by the Grand Media Hotel and Shangri-La Qiantan. Representatives from the relevant authorities of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, diplomats, and business professionals from the hospitality industry attended the event. 

As the Dean of the Shanghai Diplomatic Corps, Dr.Yok Yee Chan, Consul General of the Republic of Fiji in Shanghai was cordially invited as guest of honour. Dr.Chan stated that “ Since its inception in 2005, the event has grown from strength to strength and is becoming one of the most influential annual award ceremonies in the hospitality industry in China. I wish to congratulate all award winners. May Shanghai - the 'Pearl of the Orient', continues to lead China's economic recovery and growth in the post Covid era.”

At the event, the guests shared their experiences and celebrated the achievements of the past year. The attendees have confidence that the hospitality industry will be revitalized in 2023 as Shanghai continues to improve the quality of tourism with the introduction of more improvement policies from “Plan for Deepening the Construction of a World-famous Tourist City during the Period of the 14th Five Year Plan .”
