On 1st November, the Fiji Import Pavilion was launched at the Greenland Global Commodity Trading hub (G-Hub) in the run-up to the 3rd China International Import Expo (CIIE). The Opening Ceremony on Sunday was attended by Ms. Zong Ming, the Deputy Mayor of Shanghai, Dr. Yok Yee Chan, the Consular General of Republic of Fiji in Shanghai and other representatives from Consulates and foreign institutions.

Delivering the speech as the VIP guest, Dr. Chan said the launch of the platform at the G-Hub, just a street away from the CIIE venue, would be another critical step for Fiji to tap into the spillover effect of the CIIE, bringing more unique Fijian products to the Chinese consumers while connecting upstream and downstream traders from the two countries.

At the margins, Dr. Chan also met Ms. Zong Ming, showing the Duty Mayor around the Fiji Pavilion and gave a brief introduction on the products. The event was widely covered by the local and national media.
