Fiji Consul General Participates in 2020 Briefing on Shanghai’s Commerce and Investment

On April 9, the Consul General of Fiji in Shanghai, Dr. Yolinda Chen participated in the "2020 Briefing on Shanghai’s Commerce and Investment" organized by the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce. Officials from Consular Corps in Shanghai, Representatives of foreign trade promotion agencies attended the meeting. Leaders and heads from local districts in Shanghai and representatives of foreign-funded enterprises participated in the conference via online video connection. Mr. Xu Kunlin, Vice Mayor of Shanghai, attended the meeting and delivered a speech while Ms Shang Yuying, Deputy Secretary General of the municipal government, presided over the meeting.

The meeting focused on Shanghai's business operations in 2019 and major projects arrangements in 2020. In 2020, while facing the spread of COVID-19, the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce will actively take the lead in facilitating the production resumption of various foreign trade, commerce and service companies, and at the same time help companies to tackle the challenges during the resumption. During the Q & A session, representatives of local institutions gave detailed answers to questions on the epidemic prevention and control, resumption of work and production, foreign investment stabilization, school resumption, and the 3rd China International Import Expo.
